I believe that all humans need to experience an abiding “in the bones” sense of belonging, connection and meaningfulness in order to thrive. The technological advancements of the postmodern era have paradoxically connected people across the globe and alienated those same people from forming deeper interpersonal relationships and intrapersonal connections closer to home. I wonder: What good is it to connect with the cyberspace “global community” when you don’t feel a real flesh and blood connection to the community of your own family and friends?

We live in a time and place that values expediency more than the need to feel a sense of belonging, connection and meaningfulness. For example, when you make the attempt to contact a company, more often than not you hear an automated response system rather than speaking directly to another human being. Supposedly it’s more expedient and better serves clients to relate to a device. I think this preoccupation with high speed and automation can be dangerously dehumanizing. The psychological price paid for such rushing is very high: People are more anxious, lost, lonely, disconnected, depressed, and addicted now than any other time in history. What to do?

Although a healing experience of belonging and connection can be hard to come by when an impersonal approach replaces a personal one and when superficial connections supplant meaningful ones, we can heal together. In order to be healthy and balanced in body, mind, spirit, and emotions, I believe it is imperative that we explore and establish together a bodily and heartfelt sense of belonging, connection and meaningfulness. My work with you will integrate several different areas of healing and wellness into one balanced approach. You will discover what works best for you by trying different things.
